Eric Krappinger - Chief Instructor to ELWK.

Eric began his Martial Art training at the Renshuden Judo Club at Warren Street , from 1963-1966. The Chief Instructor was Sensei Watanabe 5th Dan (at that time) with Instructors John Kerr 5th Dan & John Newman 4th Dan.

Eric started Karate training  in 1977 with the UKKW with Sensei Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan  & his Instructors Sensei's Kobayashi, Yamanashi, Nishimura & Sugasawa.

Prior to this, he had trained with Sensei Bill Stevens in Kyukushinkai at a Stratford Gym,this was for 3 months before changing styles to Wado Ryu.

In 1983 Eric then started training with Sensei Yoshi Shinohara ( EKA - Sensei Shinohara later formed the BWKS) until 1998.

1st Dan awarded 1986

Eric then formed Waltham Forest Wado Kai in 1986

2nd Dan 1989

3rd Dan 1991

4th Dan 1995

Eric began refereeing at Karate Competitions in 1986, also at the East London Open in 1992 (organised by Ray Barrow) & attended a Refereeing Course held at Crystal Palace with Terry Pottage & Doug James.

He attended 6 BWKS summer camps, which included much running, exercises, physical games & lots of Karate Training of course!

Waltham Forest Wado Kai performed a Demonstration at Whipps Cross Hospital in 2000.

Eric fondly remembers attending a course with Sensei Suzuki in 1983 & being taught Bassai Kata by Sensei Sakagami, when he was a 4th Kyu.

Eric then formed the East London Wado Kai Association in 1998 which is Affiliated to NAKMAS

Eric then recieved his 5th Dan 2000
